Because of its high calcium oxide content, kiln dust must remain dry while conveying to prevent it from hardening in the conveying line. For this reason, it is normally transported using a pneumatic system to a dry storage vessel.
In addition to the conveying system, CCC can supply equipment for unloading kiln dust from the storage vessel. Since it has bulk handling properties similar to fly ash, kiln dust is unloaded in a like manner. A telescopic spout can be used to discharge the dry material into enclosed trucks. Alternatively, a rotary unloader or a paddle mixer/unloader will condition the kiln dust for removal into open-top trucks.
